Thornton Creek RV Community
The challenge
The community of Thornton Creek, an RV golf community nestled in between Punta Gorda and Arcadia in Florida, had severe echoing issues in their recently updated clubhouse. The nearly 5 year old drywall ceiling wasn’t helping control the noise when there were events and gatherings for the residents of the community in the hall. With almost 100 RV and rental property lots, the community gets a lot of use out of their hall.
The clubhouse has a pool, screened outdoor lanai, gym, laundry and mail room. A pickleball court and storage lot for boats or trailers are also available within the property. There is a driving range and 12 hole golf course adjacent to the community.
Relaxation and comfort are a must with this community. So when the center had echoes, the complaints rolled in. According to Edward Galuska, the project manager, “Our function hall had severe echo’s due to hard reflective surfaces."
The solution
To try to find a solution for the noise issue, Galuska turned to the internet. He quickly began searching for different ceiling suppliers. With his knowledge of Armstrong, that's where he went first and quickly found Kanopi.
